Free Stuff
I’m just gonna say it – free stuff is the best kind of stuff. I used to spend hours googling “how to get free stuff” and after like 4 hours of signing up for random websites, I had a sample of countless items shipped to my house. Clutch!
So today I’m sharing all my secrets that I’ve learned over the years to tell you how you can foil more than just a bottle of shampoo for free.
FREE BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Ahh makeup products – this one was at the top of my google searches. I always believed that if I googled “Free makeup” enough times, Sephora would realize and start sending free makeup to my house or ask me to be an ambassador. They didn’t, but I found some alternatives.
My first alternative is Loreal Consumer Testing. Basically, the idea is that L’oreal is always making new products, and they want your (yes your!!) opinion on their products while they’re still in development. They will even pay you for it! So sign up here to join L’oreal’s panel, take surveys, qualify for studies, get free makeup, AND yes, even make money. Does it get any better?? (The answer is no).
TopBox Circle is another website I wish I knew about sooner! Like L’oreal, you take surveys to qualify for studies, and then have beauty products sent for you for free in exchange for a review of the product. I’ve gotten some super posh skincare products for free through TopBox, which was so fun. Sign up here!
FREE BIRTHDAY GIFTS
I love my birthday. I love the attention, the birthday texts, the cake, but most importantly, I love the free stuff that I get for my birthday from companies! So if you don’t know this already, let me be the one to tell you that Dunkin and Starbucks both give you any drink, any size for your birthday. So if you don’t have an account with every email you have, get on that.
If you’re not into caffeine, I’ve got you – Sephora and Ulta also give you free beauty gifts for your birthday (no purchase required, don’t worry).
These are just my favorite stores, but take a second and look up right now if your favorite store or restaurant offers you a free birthday gift. Honestly, it’s pretty likely, so get on that ASAP!
FREE TRIALS/ FIRST TIME
Imagine the scene – you just finished your last show and are onto your next binge. You want to start a certain show, but wait – it’s only on Hulu! What to do?!
Here is when the power of free trials starts coming in the clutch. Because it’s so simple! You sign up for the Hulu free trial, set a reminder to cancel it in a week, and enjoy your new show for free.
But wait – the fun doesn’t stop there! Netflix, HBO, Amazon Video, CBS, Spotify, Apple Music, even Chegg and Linkedin Premium have free trials! And I am for sure missing dozens more. If you want a service, look around for a free trial first BUT always make sure to set a reminder to cancel it before you get charged to renew it!
FREE BOOKS
Books are weirdly expensive today. A fun YA novel could cost you close to $20 new, while a textbook can go for $100 or more. So there are two things you need to know about in order to stop paying those insane prices. The first is pdfs, which you probably know is just a book, but online.
Personally, if I need a textbook for class and I can do without the physical copy, I either find a pdf online for free or pay $5 on ebay for it. And that’s after I double check with someone who already took the course that the “required textbook” is actually needed. Same thing is true when it comes to reading for pleasure. If I know I only want to read a book once and don’t mind reading it on my phone, I’ll get the pdf version and save the $16.
The second thing you need to be reminded of is how seriously awesome your local library is. I feel like I just forgot about libraries completely after blowing so much money on books, but I wish I didn’t! Libraries offer you the best of both worlds – a physical book for absolutely no money! It just doesn’t get any better!
T-MOBILE TUESDAYS
We talk about T-mobile Tuesdays all the time, because both Liz and I are #blessed to have T-mobile, so if you also do – make sure to install the app for free stuff every week! Some free things we’ve gotten includes Dunkin, Baskin Robbins, Cinnabon, Lyft credit, and other random discounts you never knew you needed.
How pumped are you right now to start getting all this free stuff? I know, it is SO fun! Go claim it all and let us know if you have also spent countless hours of your life googling how to get free stuff, and what your best hacks are!
