How I Get Paid To Study
Whatttt is this even possible??
Yes. Yes, it is. I am telling you that you can make anywhere from $20 – $60 an hour, just to study for your classes.
Ok let’s get to it. Today I’m sharing my secrets on how I make thousands of dollars every year just to study for my exams. It’s literally the definition of a win – win.
BABYSIT
I know. I know. Just reading that word probably made you cringe. We have all had a babysitting experience that were SO bad, that literally scarred you for the rest of your life. But hold the eye roll.
I am not asking you to babysit after school. I am not even asking you to babysit for awake kids. The 4-7pm job is ROUGH. I’m talking about night babysitting jobs.
Here’s the move: You find a family who wants a date night sitter. You come, put the kids to sleep, and GET PAID $20 AN HOUR TO STUDY (or just watch TV)!
It is the move. Trust me.
So how do you get those sick jobs? Honestly, you need to get your name out there! Start building a clientele using Facebook mom groups of the city or town of your campus. Look out for posts that are looking for babysitters and message the person who posted, introducing yourself, your school, major, past experience and offering your services.
If you don’t want to wait around for a post, take charge and post yourself in the group! There is nothing better then selling yourself!! Explain why you’re an amazing babysitter and give the moms a number or email to reach you at. I’ve done this SO many times and gotten so many jobs from it!
You can also use babysitting apps like UrbanSitter, SitterCity, etc. to get jobs. Basically how it works is parents post a job (what hours, how many kids, if they will be sleeping, whether dinner is included, if they’re offering an uber back). If you are interested, you just click on “apply” and your profile will be shared with the parents. Then they can decide whether to use you or not.
Yeah…. it is that easy.
These apps have tons of jobs every single day that you can apply for. Parents will pass along your number to their friends and before you know it, you will have random moms reaching out to you every other day looking for a sitter (yes this happens to me).
Get on this, asap.
TUTORING
Fact: You learn better when you teach.
So what better way to study than by tutoring people in your class?
Here’s the plan. You study on your own until you are solid with the material. You post on your college Facebook group, group Me, Canvas, or any class group chats offering your tutoring services. You make $40 – $60 an hour tutoring, while also studying for yourself. Go ace your test and then invest that $40!
Obviously, you can (and should) also tutor fellow college students in classes you’re not in or a class you’ve already taken and aced. You can tutor the intro classes of your major, which will feel so easy if you’ve moved on to later classes, and it’s always good to strengthen your foundation!
If you want to get the word out that you tutor, you can start off by tutoring for your school (which pays minimum wage probably) BUT you’re just starting there! Get experience tutoring, sharpen your skills and then move on to private tutoring for the big bucks.
You can also tutor younger kids in a city or town close to your campus. Like do you know long division? Great, go help a third grader with it! Use Facebook Mom groups to find kids who need help and start cashing in.
SELL REVIEW SHEETS
Making review sheets is seriously the best way to study. Let’s be real, you’re making them anyways, why not make some money off of it? Last minute classmates will pay good money to cram the material in, so post on your class group chat offering your review sheet for $10 or $15 and watch as you make money just for studying!
Also, it’s always a good idea to sell your notes. You can sell them before a test, at the beginning of the semester or at the end after you take the final. Both current and future students will pay anything for that “A”, so make sure your notes are worthy of being sold!
If you have any other ways you get paid to study, let us know! It’s the best feeling ever loading up the Venmo as you prep for the exam!!
